RinsCap CIPA Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% w/v and Isopropyl Alcohol 70% v/v (Antiseptic Cutaneous Solution)

Composition:
The solution contains: Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% w/v
: Isopropyl Alcohol 70% v/v

Product description:
Clear, blue, cutaneous solution

Indication:
Anti-infective, antiseptic. The medicinal product is to be used for antiseptic of the skin prior to invasive procedures.

Recommended dosage:
Rinse the target area with clean water. Gently wash the area with the minimum amount of RinsCap CIPA. The solution is used undiluted.

Method of administration:
For external use

Contraindications:
The medicinal product is contraindicated where patients have shown previous hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or isopropyl alcohol

Warning and precautions:
The solution is an irritant to eyes and mucous membrane. Keep the solution away from these area. Wash promptly and thoroughly with water if the solution comes in contact with the eyes
Do not use on open skin wound, broken or damage skin, for lumbar puncture or in children less than 2 months of age.
Avoid contact with the brain, meninges and middle ear
Avoid prolonged skin contact as the solution is alcoholic solutions
Allergic or irritation skin reactions with chlorhexidine is rarely reported
Do not use with electrocautery procedures until dry
Remove any soaked materials, draped or gowns before proceeding
Do not mix with detergent or other chemicals

For external use only. Flammable, keep away from fire or flame. Do not use with ignition source. Avoid getting solution into hairy areas. Wet hair is flammable. Hair may take up to 1 hour to dry. Do not allow solition to pool and remove all wet material from preparation area. Do not use unless seal is intact

Interactions with other medicaments:
Alcohol should not be brought into contact with some vaccines and skin test injections (patch test). If in doubt, consult the vaccine manufacturers literature.

Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no studies with this product in pregnant or lactating women. However as per cutaneous absorption is negligible, there is no reason why this product may not be used during pregnancy or by breast feeding mothers.

Adverse/undesireable effects:
Rarely allergic or irritation skin reactions have been reported chlorhexidine and isopropyl alcohol
Immune system disorders
Frequency not known: hypersensitivity including anaphylactic shock

Overdose and treatment:
There are no reports of this occuring and the nature of the product makes it unlikely

Storage conditions:
Do not store above 30 Celcius
Do not freeze
Protect from light

Shelf life:
2 years from manufacturing date. Discard within 4 days after opening. Close cap tightly immediately after use
