Omega-7 is a type of monounsaturated fats (MUFAs), different from omega-3s and omega-6s which are polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs).It’s not an essential fatty acids that can be made in human body by the liver and adipose tissues from dietary palmitic acid. Blood omega-7 correlate significantly and positively with insulin sensitivity, irrespective of age, sex and degree of body fat.
